About
Hi!
My name is Illona, and I am so happy to have you here.
I am a mother, wife, and creative, living in the beautiful South West of Western Australia.
My journey with felt began when our son was turning five, and I decided to try my hand at creating a needle felted birthday crown for him. I knew absolutely nothing about needle felting at the time, but ordered what I needed and gave it a go. To my surprise, friends soon began requesting pieces for their children…
Three years later, I haven’t stopped creating.
For the past six years, our family has been deeply connected to Steiner/Waldorf education and its gentle philosophy of childhood, creativity, and handcraft. Through our son’s schooling, my own teacher training, and time working within a Steiner school community, this approach has profoundly shaped the way I create and teach.
I have a deep love for working with natural fibres and a strong appreciation for slow, meaningful creative practice. In a world that moves so quickly, I believe there is something incredibly grounding about making things by hand, and it is so important to find space for creativity within the rhythm of motherhood and everyday life.
I am so grateful for this craft, which has carried me through many different seasons,
and I feel honoured to share it with you - whether that is through creating a special piece for your child,
or guiding you in your own journey of hand sewing and needle felting.
Thank you for being here.
